| | NUCLEAR FAST RED Usage And Synthesis |
| Chemical Properties | crystalline powder | | Uses | Nuclear Fast Red is used as a biological stain and is suitable for the determination of calcium. Nuclear Fast Red targets nucleic acids and works more quickly than Hematoxylin. Dyes and metabolites. | | Definition | ChEBI: An organic sodium salt that is the monosodium salt of 4-amino-1,3-dihydroxy-9,10-dioxo-9,10-dihydroanthracene-2-sulfonic acid. It forms bright red lakes with calcium and is a useful red nuclear staining lake with aluminum. | | Biological Activity | Nuclear fast red dye has anthraquinonic nature and is used either alone or in combination with other dyes. It is mainly used for staining of nuclei. | | Purification Methods | A solution of 5g of the dye in 250mL of warm 50% EtOH is cooled to 15o for 36hours, then filtered on a Büchner funnel, washed with EtOH until the washings are colourless, then with 100mL of Et2O and dry it over P2O5 in vacuo. It is a biological stain which is also used for the estimation of Ca.
