4-Bromonicotinic acid Usage And Synthesis
Uses4-Bromonicotinic acid and several related derivatives have been shown to inhibit streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and lactic acid bacteria. 4-Bromonicotinic acid can inhibit the growth of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, but this inhibitory effect can be competitively reversed by nicotinic acid. The main function of 4-Bromonicotinic acid is to inhibit the synthesis of coenzyme precursors, such as nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, and nicotinamide riboside; while the synthesis of some coenzymes from nicotinamide riboside is inhibited, the absorption of these coenzymes is not affected, and the absorption rate is 2-3 μg/mg.
