| Uses | 1-Aminoisoquinoline was used in the synthesis of pyrimidoisoquinolinone. | | Synthesis | In a 500 ml three-necked flask was added 12.40 g (0.32 mol) of sodium amide powder, 300 ml of m-xylene, and 10.32 g (0.08 mol) of isoquinoline dissolved in 100 ml of m-xylene was added drop by drop to the three-necked flask while stirring at 120C. Stirring continued for 4 hours after completion of the dropwise addition. After the reaction was completed, m-xylene was evaporated, and the remaining residue was dissolved in hot water, and the product 1-aminoisoquinoline was crystallized as 6.90 g (0.048 mol), with a yield of 60% and a melting range of 120-121 C. |
