Biotin-PEG4-Azide Usage And Synthesis
DescriptionBiotin-PEG4-azide is a very useful biotinylation reagent that enable Click Chemistry reaction with alkyne, such as Propargyl, DBCO or BCN reagent to form a stable bond. PEG4 spacer increases aqueous solubility of the molecules conjugated to the biotin. It also helps to minimize steric hindrance involved with the binding to avidin molecules.
UsesBiotin-PEG4-azide is a biotin-labeled, PEG-based PROTAC linker that can be used in the synthesis of PROTACs[1]. Biotin-PEG4-azide is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
