Example 12:(+)-£rans-2-(2-Chloro-phenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-8-(2-hydroxymethyl-1 -methyl- pyrrolidin-3-yl)-chromen-4-one hydrochloride; (+)-^ans-2-(2-Chlorophenyl)-8-(2-hydroxymethyl-1 -methyl-pyrrolidin-3-yl)-5,7- dimethoxy-chromen-4-one (0.2 g, 0.48 mmol) was suspended in methanol (2 ml_) and ethereal HCI (5 ml_) was added. The suspension was stirred to get a clear solution. The solution was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound. Yield: 0.21 g (97 %) [ ]_D²⁵ = +21.2° (c = 0.2, methanol)¹H NMR (CD₃OD, 300MHz): 7.80 (d, 1H), 7.60 (m, 3H), 6.53 (s, 1H), 6.37 (s, 1H), 4.23 (m, 1H), 3.89 (m, 2H), 3.63 (m, 1H), 3.59 (dd, 1H), 3.38 (m, 1H), 2.90 (s, 3H), 2.45 (m, 1H), 2.35 (m, 1H). MS (ES+): m/z 402 (M +1), free base.
