Production Methods
Di-n-propyl isocinchomeronate is synthesised through an esterification reaction between isocinchomeronic acid and n-propyl alcohol. The process typically involves heating the acid with an excess of n-propyl alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst, such as sulphuric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid, to promote the formation of the ester bond. The reaction mixture is refluxed to ensure complete conversion, and water formed during esterification is removed to drive the reaction forward. After completion, the product is purified through distillation or solvent extraction, yielding di-n-propyl isocinchomeronate.
