DL-Lysine monohydrochloride Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Propertiessolid
UsesDL-Lysine monohydrochloride acts as an intermediate in the preparation of 3-amino-azepan-2-one. It also serves as an essential amino acid. It is used as animal feed. In addition to this, it is used in the construction of polylysine polymers, which finds application in lysine-based polypeptide gels and films.
ApplicationDL-Lysine monohydrochloride could be used to obtain L-(-)-camphorsulfonic acid-D-Lys salt. The ion exchange kinetics of DL-lysine monohydrochloride on Amberlite IRA-420 have been studied[1].
Biological ActivityDL-Lysine monohydrochloride is a racemic mixture of the D- and L- enantiomers of lysine. DL-Lysine may be used to construct polylysine polymers useful to produce lysine-based polypeptide gels and films.
