| | Allylmagnesium chloride Usage And Synthesis |
| Chemical Properties | clear tan to brown, amber, dark grey, dark green | | Uses | Allylmagnesium chloride has been used in a study of the nucleophilic ring-opening of 2-methyleneaziridines to imines and subsequent conversion to 5,5-disubstituted hydantoins. It is also used as a reagent for the introduction of the allyl group. | | Application | Used in a study of the nucleophilic ring-opening of 2-methyleneaziridines to imines and subsequent conversion to 5,5′-disubstituted hydantoins. | | reaction suitability | reaction type: Grignard Reaction | | Synthesis | Allylmagnesium chloride was prepared as follows: 20g of allyl chloride and 12vol of THF were added to the allyl halogenated alkane supply unit 11, and the mixture was shaken well, and the mixture was prepared for use. The temperature of the outer bath of the Grignard reagent preparation unit 13 was raised to 50-55C, and the above mixture was pumped into the Grignard reagent preparation unit 13 at the same time. Under constant stirring, magnesium chips were added from the magnesium metal supply unit 12 (solid charging funnel), while 0.4 g of I2 monomer was added to the Grignard reagent preparation unit 13 for thermal initiation. Immediately after thermal initiation, the temperature of the reaction system was lowered to a temperature between 0 and -15C to carry out a continuous Grignard reaction and continuous preparation of allylmagnesium chloride.
| | Precautions | It reacts violently with water. Air & moisture sensitive. Stable under recommended storage conditions. |
