2,2,2-TRIFLUOROETHYLAMINE Usage And Synthesis
Synthesis

2,2,2-Trifluoroethylamine can be prepared by the following steps: In a glove box, ruthenium catalyst (5 mol%, 15.2 mg, 0.025 mmol), trifluoromethylformamide (0.50 mmol, 1 equiv), and pinacolborane (2.0 mmol, 4 equiv) are added to a 25 mL Schlenk flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar. The resulting reaction mixture is stirred in an oil bath at 80 °C for 24 h. The reaction progress is monitored by TLC. After the reaction is completed, the reactants are separated by column chromatography to obtain the final product.
