3,5-Dihydroxy-7-methoxy-2-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-chromen-4-one Usage And Synthesis
UsesKaempferol-7,4'-dimethyl ether is a PTP1B inhibitor, and also can inhibit the production of NO. Kaempferol-7,4'-dimethyl ether shows the inhibition rate of 46.1% at 100 μM. Kaempferol-7,4'-dimethyl ether inhibits PTP1B activity with IC50 value of 16.92 μM[1][2].
DefinitionChEBI: 7,4'-dimethylkaempferol is a dimethoxyflavone that is kaempferol in which the hydroxy groups at position 4' and 7 have been replaced by methoxy groups. It is a component of bee glue and has been isolated from several plant species including Betula exilis, Zingiber mekongense and Alpinia flabellata. It has a role as an antioxidant and a plant metabolite. It is a dimethoxyflavone, a dihydroxyflavone and a member of flavonols. It is functionally related to a kaempferol. It is a conjugate acid of a 7,4'-O-dimethylkaempferol 3-olate.
