The crude product is dissolved in a mixture of tetrahydrofuran and hydrochloric acid, stirred at room temperature overnight, neutralized with sodium carbonate to generate hydrochloric acid, precipitated with tetrahydrofuran, dried with sodium sulfate, evaporated in vacuo, and finally purified by column chromatography to obtain a light yellow liquid 2,3-Dihydroxypropyl acrylate. |
